The manual is
currently having its eighth update. Information will be updated including
legislation that in turn effects information in policies and procedures. Most
relevant will be mandatory reporting, domestic violence and working with
children. In 2010 AMSANT undertook a review of the manual and has now set up a
working group to maintain and further develop the manual as an accessible and
practical resource in support of business and administrative functions in NT
Aboriginal community controlled health services and other stakeholders in the
field.
The
primary function of the working group is to :
o
maintain currency of the manual in terms of
all information and electronic links
o
promote the benefits and utilisation of the
manual to all AMSANT members and other relevant stakeholders
o
ensure all AMSANT staff are thoroughly
familiar with the manual and its applications and able to support member
services with its use
o
seek regular feedback from the AMSANT
membership on the manual and how it can be improved
o
identify further developments required for the
manual and advise on how these could best be achieved
o
report regularly to AMSANT management and
staff on manual developments and issues
This manual has just had its seventh update. The biggest change is to do with reforms to MBS item numbers which are outlined in the funding section.
This manual has just had its sixth update.
The most important change is that to do with the Fair Work Act 2009 and covers the majority of workplaces in Australia. From 1 January 2010 a number of significant changes have taken place and are outlined in the legal section.
This manual has just had its fifth update.
Information in all the sections has been updated. The most changes have occured in the proformas with the addition of new ones being added in most sections.
As part of this update we carried out a survey of member services using the manual. We are pleased to report that it is being well used. There were requests for further information around accreditation. it is planned to further update that section in the new year.
This is the fourth update of the AMSANT Administration Manual.
The most relevant contexual change relates to the updating the Aboriginal Health section to include recent changes such as the Commonwealth NT Intervention. With the election of a new Commonwealth Government further changes are expected. Two new sections hae been added - one on information management and communications and the other on accreditation matters. Both these sectios will require significant updates in the near future.
A further major update is intended to take account of changes in legislation (workplace relations and Aboriginal organisation incorporation Acts). Since the election of the new Commonwealth Labor Government some changes in these areas are expected. The site will be updated to incorporate any changes when such changes become clear. In the meantime, we advise services to take care that any changes they are making are consistent with new legislative requirements - see links in relevant sections.
Pleasse let us know of any other areas you think should be included, problems with the site and any other feedback you have that can make this site more useful to you.
